Mojang, the creator of Minecraft, and adventure game developer Telltale Games have announced that on October 13th Minecraft: Story Mode will launch for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows 10 computers. Telltales Games is the company behind The Walking Dead video games and The Wolf Among Us.
Inside Minecraft: Story Mode you will take control of the blocked hero Jesse and places you on a perilous adventure to find the Order of the Stone to save the world. Jesse is will allow the players the ability to play as either a male or as a female character both called Jesse. The game will feature the voice talents of Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Brian Rosehn, Corey Feldman and Paul Reubens.
Kevin Bruner, the co-founder and current CEO of TellTale Games, stated that the game was “developed in partnership with our friends at Mojang, this all-ages adventure series kicks off a thrilling story full of many elements essential to the world of Minecraft.” Creating a story line around Minecraft is something fans have asked for and TellTale is currently one of the better story developers in the industry right now.
The game is scheduled to be released digitally on October 13th for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows 10 computers. Retail editions will be released to the general public on October 27th.
