Brian Horton, the game director of Rise of the Tomb Raider, has left Crystal Dynamics and is joining Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward is known as one of the franchise developers of Call of Duty.
Horton updated his Tumblr account with the following statement:
“After working on two amazing games, my family and I have decided to return to Southern California and start a new adventure,”
In the Tumblr update, Horton didn’t mention his new position, but his LinkedIn profile noted his new position at Infinity Ward. Since 2013 Horton worked as the senior art director of the Tomb Raider reboot for Crystal Dynamics.
Horton believes that Tomb Raider is left in capable hands with the remaining team at Crystal Dynamics. Since the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider, it has sold over one million copies to date and more copies expected to sell with the launch of it on PC January 28th.
